There are two caerns in the vicinity of Milhaven. One to the north, among the many natural hot springs is a Black Fury possessed caern, inherited from the Red Talons after they were nearly hunted to extinction in the area due to response to increased wolf attacks. The hills are mostly considered off limits to most humans, though recently more and more have been sneaking back in. This caern is home to the sept of the Flaming Stone. The second caern is Shadowlord-dominated sept of the Granite Tooth. It is located near a natural granite outcropping that juts upward between a grove of pine trees. It was discovered by European Garou and stolen from its Uktena caretakers, who took over there after the Croatoan sacrificed themselves. It houses a sleeping Bane called Raper-of-Children and has so-far managed to remain undiscovered, thanks to the resources of the Shadowlord caretakers. Worst of all however, is the fact that both caerns seem to be losing energy quickly. Nobody at either caern knows exactly why and neither has shared the information with the other. However the Shadowlords are closer then ever to implementing their plans to steal the caern from the sept of the Flaming Stone. Both septs have become increasingly ornery because of the drain, though and some members of each have even begun picking off other supernatural beings, secretly if at all possible. |
