Description

Martin once bore his Aryan features proudly. decades of war and neglect darkened them considerably. His eyes are as cold as his manner and many people are intimidated by him before he opens his mouth. Honestly Martin wouldn't have it any other way. He looks a bit scruffy, even when he cleans himself up for guests. He does this because it is how his sire fell for him. Usually, he keeps himself fairly dressed, in current fashions, trusting his ghouls to keep him looking good. He avoids mirrors, claiming Lupines use them to travel (something he learned in his studies of the occult).

Name: Martin Ulriche
Born: 1760 A.D.
Embraced:1794 A.D.
Apparent Age: Late Thirties
Generation: 7
Sire:Lady Miranda (deceased)
Clan:Lasombra (Posing as a Toreador)
Nationality:German

A German artist in the Salon's of Paris in the years before the French Revolution, Martin's style was unique, though influenced by the Rococo, and many of his favorites were hailed as great works. However, all that changed after Napoleon took power following the French Revolution. The Neoclassical movement swept through France and the native German found his former patrons that survived the Revolution turning against him. He eked out as good an existence as he could and his work even improved. Eventually, he was invited to a private viewing with a visiting Spanish Lady.

The Lady Miranda was late to the viewing, but Martin's pride would not allow him to be nervous. He politely refused the servant's offers of food and drink as he waited for hours for the Lady, despite the fact he had not eaten in days. Eventually she showed and he was weak with hunger, a result of being surrounded by such majesty. The Lady told him he had passed his final test and offered him a chance to never be weak and hungry again, but to Hunger for all eternity. Intrigued and quite aware of what suffering had done for his art in the past, the young artist accepted. And so his life ended.

The pair celebrated the turn of the century at the Lady Miranda's ancestral home in Spain. The next 50 years were good to them and Martin painted many paintings for the local Kindred, growing in prestige amongst the upper crust. Then the Sabbat wiped out the small city in northern Spain where the two dwelled. It was then that he first met Alicia of York, a young Bishop of the Sabbat and her henchman Gray. Alicia herself took the vitae of Miranda, claiming the Blood Court's had ruled in her favor. From that day forward, Martin claimed to be of Clan Toreador to avoid being hunted as a Lasombra Antitribu. Martin journeyed to the US soon thereafter to escape the memories of his home. He served as a Harpy in several cities and as Primogen of St. Louis soon thereafter. Though he has many allies across the country, they are all a little wary of him, due an odd darkness that seems to lurk in his soul.

Recently he came to Milhaven, where he serves on the Primogen Council for Clan Toreador. The Harpy's openly praised him when he arrived in the city; whether out of fear or respect is unknown. Honestly it matters little to him. He is fully aware of the Prince's hobby, having literally caught the younger vampire in the act. Now the two are fairly close friends and occasionally they hunt together. Recently Martin has seen the trollop who slaughtered his true love, but has said nothing about it to anyone, allowing her to pose as a Brujah Anarch. Eventually, he knows, she'll make excellent prey.
