The Kithain were latecomers to Milhaven. The heavy Banality of the early city put many of the immigrant Kiths to sleep along with the Nunnehi. It was a deal between Jacob Haven and the current leader of the Fae, a Seelie Redcap named Jasper Garnetskull, that eventually led to the repopulation of the city by the Faerie. Haven was in charge of keeping Industry from walking all over the populace, and in exchange, the Changelings would create more Freeholds and allow Magi to join them there. Alas, Haven eventually vanished from the public eye, rumored to have passed on and Garnetskull eventually was struck down by a Sidhe Knight during the Accordance War. The Accordance War hit the city hard, and several Freeholds were destroyed or drained. The Sidhe truly did more harm then good. However the new ruler, Baron Sabaracus did his best to maintain fair dealings with the Commoners, right up until he was assassinated in 1987. Then he was replaced by his protoge, an Unseelie Sidhe named Simon Ravensong. With the help of his advisors, Ravensong re-discovered the agreement between Haven and Garnetskull, and has begun allowing the re-establishment of Freeholds, by those who meet his standards. Unfortunately, even as they are established, the Freeholds seem to be draining. Ravensong has accepted this as a dark portent. He has ordered a buffering of his Realm against whatever dark fate is looming. Indeed in the late eighties, a Chimerical Dragon was ravaging the countryside, eating Kithain, until it was chased off by a Troll Childer with the help of Ravensong. Also a few clumsy attempts on the Baron's life have occurred, though the members of his court have managed to prevent anything too bad from happening. However Soothsay turns up many dark images these days. |
