Description

Constantine's age and clan are obvious due to his dark complexion and his roman features. He is bald and has long since stopped grooming his silvered hair. He was Embraced late in life, for his time and appears to be approaching middle age. He has a slight pot belly, an oddity for most cainites. His stance is one of an odd combination of humour and dignity. Though he is only a little over five feet tall, he possesses an air of power about him.

Constantine was Embraced during the declining years of the Roman Empire, shortly after Christianity began to spread. His family was one of the few among the Romans who practiced the teachings of Mohammed and they were openly persecuted for it.

While the majority of Constantine's life as a mortal is unknown, the rumors say that he managed to infiltrate the crumbling Empire's government and help it along by covertly assassinating key members from within. It is believed that is where he met his sire.

Little is known about Constantine's early years. He first surfaced as a Kindred in 1216, at the assassination of a Ventrue up-and-comer who was acting against the interests of the Lasombra. He has rarely spoken to an outsider of the clan and prides himself in keeping most of his activities secret. Throughout the Dark Ages, several Assamites claimed to be his childer and protege's. Most of these, however, were destroyed by the Inquisition. One thing that is well-known about those who know anything about Constantine, is his deep-seated hatred of the Sabbat. The legends place him as one of the most outspoken against the sect, though whether for personal reasons or otherwhise is unknown.

Constantine met Solomon in Cairo in 1725 and was impressed by the criminal's skill at organizing his ring of assassins and thieves. In 1727, Constantine kidnapped the young man and had him escorted to Alumet, taking control of the crime ring himself until the fledgling returned successfully. The two travelled the world and Constantine taught his childe everything he could. Then in 1810, Constantine released Solomon to go his own way and journeyed to a small Polynesian Island, where his servants had prepared a haven for him. He entered torpor and slept until his abilities with Auspex granted him dreams that showed him Solomon had joined the Sabbat. Last year, these dreams finally drove him to awaken in a frenzy that decimated the small island where he had slept. Only a single girl survived his attack and he made her his ghoul, forcing her to teach him of the new world of the 21st century. He began a hunt for Solomon to reclaim his vitae, a hunt which has finally led him to Milhaven.
